ENJOY THE BEACH

PRO TIPS AND FUN TIDBITS

SHARK TEETH

Myrtle Beach is known for being a great spot to find shark teeth and we are located in the prime location along the beach for this.

Pro tip: focus your search in the shell bed and look for little black items. Most teeth we have found are black (fossilized).  Not sure if it's a shark tooth? Try to break it in half. If it breaks, it's probably just a shell. It's very hard to break a fossilized tooth!

DOLPHIN SPOTTING

You can see dolphins most days from our balconies! Look for dolphins at dawn and dusk. They will be swimming along the coast and are easy to spot! Check out the video to see how to spot them.

MONARCHS MIGRATING

If you are lucky enough to be joining us in the fall, look out for the Monarch butterflies along the beach! Did you know that Myrtle Beach is part of their migration route from Mexico to Canada? The butterflies will be snacking along the dunes and in the flowers by the beach accesses!

LET'S GO FLY A KITE

The wind is always blowing at the beach! It's a great place to fly your kites! Don't forget to pack them or pick some up when you arrive.

BUILD LIKE A PRO

We had the pleasure of meeting the inventor of Create A Castle as he built these great sandcastles right outside Seaside Oasis. No special sand is required and you can build amazing creations with sandcastle molds!

BEACH CHAIRS AND
UMBRELLAS FOR RENT

For your safety and for the visibility of the lifeguards, from Memorial Day to Labor Day,  only umbrellas measuring up to 7 ½ feet in diameter are allowed in-line-with, or behind, the established umbrella line.  Non-umbrellas and umbrellas larger than 7 ½ feet in diameter are not permitted, with the exception of infant tents no larger than 4 feet wide by 3 feet deep and 3 feet high.  Your rental will be set up right outside the building as pictured.

GHOST CRABS

Grab your flashlight in the summer months and head to the water's edge at night to see little ghost crabs scurrying across the sand! You'll find them best on less populated parts of the beach (walk north toward the Golden Mile, just past the Sea Captain's House Restaurant).  Please don't harm the crabs or disturb their burrows. Enjoy watching them!
